Tested 4-2-4 GUNG HO, 14.3.1 Football Manager 2014 Tactics

I was initially going to hold on to the tactic until i have done further testing, but decided to upload it anyways. Thought it would be much faster with other people trying out the tactic than just me testing it alone.

Testing done with Bayern, attached SS for the results. There were some inconsistent results which lead to a few draws and more goals conceded than i would have liked in the League. i think this was due to constant tweaking of the tactic, didnt have a 100% fluid tactic all season. Won Everything.

Base-Counter tactics (LB has a little tweak in instructions)

GUNG HO is base tactic, LB is for against Direct teams. Best example i used LB against Dortmund in cup final but used base tactic against possesion based Arsenal. Counter is for When your away to similar or bigger teams.

GUNG HO is the main tactic and has attacking mentality, with its aim to pump balls into the box for the two strikers to score. This should be used both Home and Away when your Favourites or even.

The LB(Long Ball) tactic is for against teams who play direct and fast football, like Athletico/Dortmund/Chelsea and most Lower EPL teams. Use scouting report to find out if they play more direct football or change in game from your own observations.

Counter tactic pretty much gives its use from the name. Use it when your underdogs or playing bigger teams away.
Tactic has no OIs, you could use it if you want but i personally think with big teams(quality defenders) its not needed.

Training: Same as my WP tactic or anything you guys want. Just make sure players are happy and have great team cohesion.

Note: Tactic not recommended with weaker teams. Not tested and its too attacking for weaker teams.

4-3-3 Tactic Football Manager 2014 Tactics

4-3-3 style tactic for my Newcastle side and it's becoming very impressive and enjoyable, when i created this tactic i was thinking of my own Newcastle team in real life and Alan Pardew only wished he had my football knowledge to set this style into play.

Nezza's 4-3-3 tactic-newcastle-united_-tactics-overview.png
first of all iv'e set this tactic into 3 stages of phase

1. Defending.
2. possession.
3. Attacking in the final third.

with most games i've played i had over 55-65% possession ( picture below )

in the first season i finished 1st with Newcastle and with a good tally of goals

Nezza's 4-3-3 tactic-english-premier-division_-overview-stages.png

102 goals + 32 goals conceding - pretty impressive since Colo & S.Taylor ain't that fast but they were solid and always got into good position.

first season was going very well and the tactic became more better each game, the only downfall i had was my players getting injured ( thanks to Man city & Arsenal ) near the end of the season but it was all right since i was 9 points ahead of second place Man United.

players needed for this style of tactic

CWB's - they need to be fast and good on tackling with good crossing ability.

CB's - fast and strong with good positioning and tackling.

2 wide midfielder are on Automatic so players who are good on attack and defence would suit this perfect.

Inside forwards - these guys are your beast and assists and score a lot of goals like the picture below shows HBA stats through out the 1st season

Nezza's 4-3-3 tactic-hatem-ben-arfa_-history-career-stats.png

20 goals and 17 assists - but don't forget guys you will need left foot on right & right foot on left, players like Nem & HBA would love this

Deep lying player - well your playmaker would suit this obviously.

false 9 - to me it doesn't really matter who plays in this role but i would recommend fast strikers with good first tough and passing.

training

Nezza's 4-3-3 tactic-newcastle-united_-training-team.png

i would go for team cohesion until first match of the season then the picture showing above until tactic is fully fluid and once it's fully fluid put very high to average.

iv'e always used attacking movement regardless of who i play.

but it's entirely up to you's what you chose for training.

so thanks guys for reading this thread and i hope you have success like i have, any feedback is welcomed and i look forward to helping you's reach success.

P.S i will keep updating this thread if i improve the tactic.

V.2 has 2 box to box midfielder's and a deep lying playmaker, the midfielder's seem better in this role and want to be more involved.

4-3-3 Domination Crewe to premiership in 2 years - Football Manager 2014 Tactics

4-3-3 Domination Crewe to premiership in 2 years - Football Manager 2014 Tactics

This tactic is a goal machine, and perfect for getting the best out of a lesser quality squad in any league but also dominating a league with a higher team, and has been proven by my success with taking Crewe Alexandra (one of the poorest league one sides - media predicted 23rd) to the premiership in just 2 years with back to back promotions. I have also recently tested it with Bayern, where the results were just as good, images below.

It is a very high scoring tactic, proven by me being the league's leading scorers in both the league one and the championship, with one of the worst teams in the league. I also don't conceed a huge amount, all though conceeding can be accepted due to the sheer amount of goals scored. In league one I was had a media predicted finish of 23rd, and in the championship I was predicted to 24th, with avoiding relegation being my target from the board being avoid relegation in both years. However I massively outdid these targets, finishing runner up in both seasons to get promoted, losing the league both times by very narrow margins and in the championship being very unlucky not to be champion, with Derby scoring a goal in the 93rd minute to win the last game of the season, and the title by 2 points. This is a massive over achievement for a team such as Crewe, and particularly because my squad was so poor for championship level.

The tactic uses a fluid and attacking style, creating lots of chances and having 20+ shots in most home games, and 15+ shots in most away games which is impressive. Another thing is that 95% of the time you will dominate possession, with over 60% at home, and most of the time over 50% away, even to better teams as I have shown below with my tie against a good Blackburn team who finished 3rd in the championship, with my poor Crewe squad. I would advise focusing on getting 2 quality full backs who are pacey and good on the ball, as they play a key role in this tactic, and a creative, all round forward who is a jack of all trades. It would be an advantage to also have a fit, hardworking midfield, and the wingers should be tricky and creative.

Below I have attached some images of previous league tables and fixtures in previous years, however I was unable to get match reports of games that I dominated in league one and early championship, as I am a few years into the save now.

You may also notice I am 19th in the premiership currently and that my team morale and ratings aren't very good, but this is because I have only played 1 game and lost it 2-0 to a pretty much unbeatable Manchester City team including Ibrahimovic. I have high hopes for the rest of the season.

Key highlights of the screenshots include a brilliant 2 leg win over Norwich in the FA Cup when I was in league one, proof of the tactic working away to Blackburn, placed 3rd in the championship, and a few previous league tables and fixtures from previous years.

I have also tested this tactic recently with a quality team, Bayern, and the results have been just as good. I have included more match screenshots this time to show the type of dominance on display, and how many shots and chances are created each match, including great victories at Dortmund away and battering Chelsea.

Should also mention that I did not use any shouts with this tactic, and focus on tactics for my main focus in training, and defensive positioning for match preparation, it really helps in the conceeding goals department. Pitch size - maximum dimensions. Another thing regarding training - I used tactics focus with very high intensity pre season, with tactics match prep, but when the season started I changed to average intensity and def.pos match prep.

Any feedback will be appreciated, but bare in mind that you may need to be patient until the tactic becomes fluid with your team, as like all tactics it doesn't work as well until this point.
