FM 2013 Tactics & Training Koen Fast, Fluid, 4-4-2 Beast [Classic]

4-4-2 Fast, Fluid, Beast - By Koen/ChristianEriksen

Hi again, I've made a new tactic for Football Manager 2013. This time, it's a fast, fluid, 4-4-2 beast. I hope you enjoy this tactic.

The results

Koen - Fast, Fluid, 4-4-2 Beast. [Classic]-t3l6.jpg Koen - Fast, Fluid, 4-4-2 Beast. [Classic]-houg.jpg Koen - Fast, Fluid, 4-4-2 Beast. [Classic]-mmtj.jpg Koen - Fast, Fluid, 4-4-2 Beast. What do you need?

Most of the goals and attacking movements are coming from side and centrum. It is a fluid tactic and attackers and midfielders moving across the field, switching from posititons. There is a lot of free creativity for the wide midfielders and the right striker.

The defenders are on man mark. They need to stay close too the opponents attackers and have to tackle a lot. The backs are coming up very often and will make some goals and assits in a season. Attacking skills will be appreciated.

The central midfielders are both controlling midfielders. Both will make a lot of assists but the have to control the game by good passing and win the ball by good tackling. The left central midfielder is the more defensive one and the right CM is the attacking one. The side midfielders are making actions by speed and need to cross the ball or score after a good action. Good wingers are Valencia (Yes? Yeah! at my game) and Florenzi. Of course there are much more good side midfielders. I played with Nani but he always shoots for himself and doesn't pass or cross the bal. That type of midfielders doesn't work for this tactic. They have to play for the team!

What type of striker at what position? Doesn't mind, look down here. They all score and give assists!

Benefits of the tactic

- With this tactic you will dominate most of your games, home and away.
- High pressure because you will get the ball quickly back in possession.
- Strong in standard situations.

Tactics help
- I play with standard or big pitch size.
- Instructions opponent, I do not use them.
- Team Training is on 'balanced' (average) and preparatory training, I let my assistant do that or on 'defensive positioning'.
- I do not use shouts.

My Huge Tactics Testing Project (FM 2013)

Well guys, its about damn time..
Cant resist not to run my testing project in every FM season.
For those who never heard of this project, you may look for:

FM 2011
My Huge Tactics Testing Project!!!
FM 2012
My Huge Tactics Testing Project (FM 2012) !!!

This time is no different:
Plug-n-Play style, watch all matches (no instant result)..

As you can see, this is an attempt to find some of the best Plug-n-Play tactics for (and againts) big clubs..
Understandably some tactics may not do well here since they were not made for Plug-n-Play.
Bottomline, its all for fun, so lets not get things (too) personal.

I'll update new results anytime I can..

Meanwhile, you all welcome to suggest any improvement for this test. But of course I cant do all the suggested
improvement, because believe it or not, I do have a life..
You are also welcome to suggest any tactic, especially tactics which I cant find here.
I will start with the most recognized ones.
Thanx in advance!

Tactic Mr Hough Ft Mr Langvatn Football Manager 2013

Here is mine and Mr Ken Langvatn’s new tactic for Football Manager 2013 Patch 13.3.2 and 13.3.3

The formation is a flat back 4 with a Holding DM 3 Central Attacking Pressing Midfielders, An AMC in the Ghost Role and an All Out ST Scoring Goals For Fun.

The Back 5 (Flat back 4 and DM) explain themselves.

The idea to have 3 midfielders is so we can press the player rather than the ball. Pressing the players I believe is better because then when the opposition pass the ball about, we have our players pressing them and drawing them into mistakes. Having three central midfielders helps us do that, especially with the DM backing them up.

The ‘Ghost’ AMC Role is essentially the False 9, but I call it the Ghost Role. He will be dropping in and out, linking the attack and is the main creative threat against the opposition.

The ST is the main focus of attack – He is the Scoring machine in the side and will score the Bulk of the Goals for your side.

Hints and Tips from a pair Of FM Masters…..

Remember that Winning Boasts Morale From Supporters to Players to the Board of Directors so always offer the Highest possible Bonus’s for Competitions because even if you have to pay 8 Million out in Bonus’s you will probably get that back and remember Players like to play for Winners so try and win everything Possible, WE DO!!!

Keeping Players Happy is a BIG factor in this years FM – You can keep moral up in various ways, Playing a player and Winning Game, having Team Meetings to talk points with all of your players of Praise players for Good Performances, All these Tips Help in gaining good Morale.

Match Preparation is set as Defensive Positioning, Every Tactic is always made as attacking as Possible so to have the extra defensive positioning for training is the logical Choice.

Training is set to Balanced this is so that every position get abit of training focused on it.

I Don’t use Team Talks too much I generally as a rule Get a Decent Assistant Manager to Do them, If you are gonna get a Decent Assistant Manager look for High Stats in

Man Management
Tactical knowledge
Motivation
Determination

But if you wanna go with someones elses team talks then this guide is a great starter point.
We never use Opposition Instructions so don’t use any for Full tactic potential.

W4NKER's Modern Warfare tweak Football Manager 2013 Tactics and Training

Hello there. I've been using Modern Warfare in one form or the other since it first appeared on the scene. However, after each ME update it has required a few tweaks here and there to adjust to the new patches. As such the MW thread has seen many different tweaks and version appear so, as suggested by others, I've decided to start a new thread for my particular version.

OBVIOUSLY 99.9% OF THE CREDIT TO THE CREATOR OF THE ORIGINAL MODERN WARFARE (BASSANOVA I THINK) AND THE K.I.S.S. VERSION (DON'T KNOW WHO UPLOADED THAT)

The Tactic

W4NKER's Modern Warfare tweak-manchester-united_-tactics-team.jpg

The Main Tweaks

1) All players and Team set to Zonal Marking

2) Advanced Forward ticked as Target Man and Run onto Ball supply

3) Changes to Set Pieces. Nothing exploitive but can be the difference between one point and three.

*Tweak defensive set pieces to suit your own players. No point have a big, strong Full Back marking the far post or if your striker is Didier Drogba get him back to defend corners for example

Training/Match Prep

Now the main differences involve General Training and Match Prep.

PRE-SEASON IS ALWAYS THE SAME:

W4NKER's Modern Warfare tweak-preseason.jpg

I usually arrange a friendly ever 3 days so the team is only doing the Match Prep all of preseason.

DURING THE SEASON:

Now here is where I would tweak about. I've tested this tactic version over many saves with various teams (I'll show results in the next post) and in one save one particular training/match prep will work wonders but in the next save with a different team the same training/prep can fail miserably.

You really need to try each and see which works best here.

Having said that, my general rule of thumb is this:

Standard/Big Team Prep

W4NKER's Modern Warfare tweak-standard-big-team-prep.jpg

Average Team Prep

W4NKER's Modern Warfare tweak-alternate-prep.jpg

Lower League Team Prep

W4NKER's Modern Warfare tweak-afc-ajax_-untitled-training.jpg

TEAM TALKS = ASSISTANT (look for high motivating and man management stats)

OPPOSITION INSTRUCTIONS = NONE

NO SHOUTS

ARussell's 4-2-3-1/4-5-1 (Rock Solid Defence) Football Manager 2013 Tactics and Training

If you some of you remember me from last years fm forum you probably remember my Aston Villa team and the tactics i created for them, will i have been alot less active on this years forum because i havent really got into this years fm

This has been down to several reasons, firstly i havent been able to implement my possession style of play on this years game as effectively as previous games, secondly i think my villa team kinda spoilt everything for me, meaning with that team i could pretty much develop any tactic and it would have been a success due to the insaneness of my players and my better knowledge and understanding of the fm 12 match engine and finally im not sure if i was the only one who has had this problem but for the most part defenders and goalkeepers are just plain stupid. Well basically this thread is to show that sometimes if you persist with something it is possible to get some kind of enjoyment and even implement everything i want from the game.

So this is were we get onto my season, I have had a Man Utd save since the day i brought the game and ive had many great successes on the save winning pretty much everything there is to be won sometimes easily and sometimes not, however ive always stuck to my philosophies from last years game but one thing i havent been able to do i regularly get a steady defence. However i have made 2 tactics that i rotate depending on how they perform and they have managed to achieve both, i will now give you a short insight to how my season has gone.

ARussell's 4-2-3-1/4-5-1 (Rock Solid Defence)-english-premier-division_-overview-stages.png

As you can see I won 34 out of the 38 possible game and drew the other 4 so in this aspect it wasnt perfect winning all the games would have been special but the stand out stats are really the 108 goals for and the miserly 11 goals for meaning i ending up with a incredibly goal difference of 97 which is the highest goal difference i have personally seen in any of my games or seasons.

ARussell's 4-2-3-1/4-5-1 (Rock Solid Defence)-manchester-united_-fixtures-schedule.pngARussell's 4-2-3-1/4-5-1 (Rock Solid Defence)-manchester-united_-fixtures-schedule-2.png

As you can see the stand out games were 2-0 away to Chelsea ( who have a Falcao who has finished top goalscorer in what seems everything all the time) 2-0 at home to Spurs, 2-0 at home to Man City, 4-1 against Liverpool, 10-0 at home to Leeds and 4-0 to Chelsea. Also at certain times during the league season i kept 7 clean sheets in a row twice and once kept 9 clean sheets in a row.

ARussell's 4-2-3-1/4-5-1 (Rock Solid Defence)-manchester-united_-fixtures-schedule-3.png

As you can see i had a pretty easy group but the knockout stages was alot harder. But as you can see keeping cleansheets in both legs against Dortmund and Madrid. Also the 5-0 first leg match against Spurs proves it scores goals aswell as clean sheets. Finally the final keep a clean sheet against Barcelona (who have Messi and Aguero) is a big achievement.

ARussell's 4-2-3-1/4-5-1 (Rock Solid Defence)-manchester-united_-fixtures-schedule-5.png

As you can see it didnt start all that well with us needing a replay to beat Chelsea but in both matches we managed to keep a clean sheet, after this we also managed to keep a clean sheet against Spurs and Blackburn but the last few games we didnt manage to keep the clean sheets but still got the results.

ARussell's 4-2-3-1/4-5-1 (Rock Solid Defence)-manchester-united_-fixtures-schedule-4.png

As you can see i only coincided 1 goal on the way to lifting the cup and even beat Arsenal 5-0 in the second leg.

The Two Tactics:

ARussell's 4-2-3-1/4-5-1 (Rock Solid Defence)-manchester-united_-tactics-team.png
As with what seems to be the norm of this years fm i went with a wide 4-2-3-1 with a winger on one side and an inside forward on the other. As with my tactics from last years tactics it implements a short passing possession style of play but with a more crossing oriented attack.
ARussell's 4-2-3-1/4-5-1 (Rock Solid Defence)-manchester-united_-tactics-team-2.png
This tactic is alittle different to the other because it implements two inside forwards and an anchor man, it also has a higher defensive line, plays down the wings and through the middle instead of just through the middle and is also alot slower in the play.

The Players:

As far as the players needed for the two tactics I will show you screenshots of my players and there stats and you should try to get players as close as you can to these players.

Defensive:

ARussell's 4-2-3-1/4-5-1 (Rock Solid Defence)-david-de-gea_-overview-attributes.pngARussell's 4-2-3-1/4-5-1 (Rock Solid Defence)-rafael_-overview-attributes.pngARussell's 4-2-3-1/4-5-1 (Rock Solid Defence)-ded-_-overview-attributes.pngARussell's 4-2-3-1/4-5-1 (Rock Solid Defence)-phil-jones_-overview-attributes.pngARussell's 4-2-3-1/4-5-1 (Rock Solid Defence)-alex-sandro_-overview-attributes.png

Midfield:

ARussell's 4-2-3-1/4-5-1 (Rock Solid Defence)-john-swarbrick_-overview-attributes-2.pngARussell's 4-2-3-1/4-5-1 (Rock Solid Defence)-sidon-monteiro_-overview-attributes.pngARussell's 4-2-3-1/4-5-1 (Rock Solid Defence)-joe-hurst-may_-overview-attributes.pngARussell's 4-2-3-1/4-5-1 (Rock Solid Defence)-richie-kilburn_-overview-attributes-3.pngARussell's 4-2-3-1/4-5-1 (Rock Solid Defence)-neymar_-overview-attributes.png

Striker:

ARussell's 4-2-3-1/4-5-1 (Rock Solid Defence)-anatole-alim_-overview-attributes.png

Just a side note on my striker I realise he is very good but he did miss any exceptional amount of opportunities.

Match Prep:

I had it on defensive until they were fully trained with it then changed to attacking, as for pitch dimensions mine is on normal however the tactics work well on big pitches aswell I am not to sure with small so use at your own risk.

Disclaimer:

As with any tactics please give your team time to adjust, so this is not a 'plug and play' tactic.

The Tactics:

4-2-3-1:
Russell 4-2-3-1.tac

4-5-1:
man utd 4-5-1.tac
I look forward to hearing any input anybody has and would love to hear on any improvements you may make.
